When Do Drills Take Place?

At our PBSA sites where the fire alarm system supports a full building evacuation, fire drills are held twice a year - usually in October and April. These are supervised by the Building Manager and supported by our Operations and Facilities Teams.

What Should You Do During a Drill?

When the fire alarm sounds:

  • Leave your flat, or the building area you are in immediately and close doors behind you
  • Use the nearest safe exit - do not use the lifts
  • Bring any mobility aids you need
  • Go calmly to the assembly point outside the building
  • Follow instructions from staff wearing high-visibility vests

If you're unsure where your assembly point is, check the fire safety signage in your building or ask a member of your Building Team.

Why Your Participation Matters

Fire drills help us test our systems and make sure everyone knows what to do. Your participation helps us identify any issues and improve safety for everyone. After each drill, we review how it went and send out feedback to residents.

After the Drill

Once the Building Manager confirms it’s safe, you’ll be invited back inside. We’ll send a follow-up message thanking you and sharing any important updates or improvements.
