- Sink or Drain Blocked
Blockages are usually caused by something that has gone down the plug hole. This could simply be a build up of products or hair or cooking fat.
It is tenants responsibility to keep the drains flowing in the property so firstly you should be careful about what you let down the drains.
Many tenants have found it useful to buy their own drain covers and this has stopped any clogs occurring.
You can purchase 'drain un-blocker' from any local supermarket. Follow the instructions carefully. Do not just use bleach products, as drain un-blocker has the specific job of expanding and breaking down build-up in the pipes.
If these steps haven’t resolved the clog after a couple of attempts, you can then report it to Unipol via the Unipol App.
Please note if an engineer is called out and it is noted the clog was caused by the tenant, there might be a fine to pay, so please make your best efforts to keep the drains clear and routinely check and clean them.
