Will the construction be completely finished by September or can we expect some ongoing work whilst we live there?

With any new building there will be work to carry out any defects as the building settles. You will be notified if this affects you and we will work with the developer to minimise and limit and disruption.

Is there parking?

Oak House is in a strictly city centre location, there is no on-site parking – it is a 5 minutes walk to the top of Leeds University campus and a 10 minute walk in to the heart of the city centre of Leeds and the central library.

How big are the beds and how much storage do they have underneath?

The beds are 3/4 size (AKA Small Double) - 4ft x 6ft

The heights of space under the bed is approx. 15cm, one can fit two shallow storage boxes underneath and plenty of other cardboard boxes and items around them.

What if I change my mind?

When you take up the tenancy, please refer to Unipol's policy for release

What is the difference between a Standard and Deluxe room at Oak House?

There are 6 room types at Oak House and they are all en-suite. In year one, the room type is based on the whether it is a studio or shared and the size of the room.

Studio executive - 25m plus (double occupancy permitted)
Studio standard - 20m - 25m
Executive - 20m plus bedrooms
Deluxe - 15 - 19m bedrooms
Standard - 12.5ft - 15m bedrooms
Economy - Under 12.5m2 or restricted head height (all greater than 11.7m2)

What is the payment schedule? Will it be monthly/weekly/quarterly?

Postgraduates on a 50 week tenancy length pay monthly

Studios pay monthly

43 week contracts, most suited to undergraduates pay in instalments with the first payment due on 1st October. Subsequent payments are in January and a final payment in April

It says the room is suitable for postgraduates so does that mean I’ll be guaranteed to share a flat with only postgraduates?

Where possible, we will only let a room to an postgrad or international student. There are plenty of flat options that are available for undergraduates.

Is the start date of 24th September set in stone or is there a possibility of moving in slightly earlier, as my course will be starting on the 20th?

The building will be available from 24th September 2021
