What to bring to university

You may wish to bring items to University to make your room and flat more like home

You will need

  • Bedding (sheets, duvet, pillows) - Please note, a lot of our allocated developments have double or three-quarter size beds (apart from Rm 1 & 4 in Grayson Heights)
  • Cooking utensils
  • Pots and pans to cook with
  • Cutlery - knives, forks, spoons
  • Crockery - plates and bowls
  • Towels
  • Bedside lamp
  • Coat hangers

We provide as standard in every property

  • Bed - mattress and base
  • Mattress protector
  • Desk for study
  • Chair for study
  • Bedside table or equivalent
  • Wardrobe for clothing
  • Set of drawers or equivalent for clothing
  • Floor standing or wall mounted shelves

Some things you will only need one per flat, so do not buy them specially as you may end up with multiples of everything. If you have them already, they may be worth bringing.

When you arrive you can always shop with your housemates and each person buy one of items you need (which will be useful during your University studies and beyond)

  • Kettle (provided at Royal Park)
  • Toaster
  • Combi Microwave (provided at Royal Park, Grayson Heights & Cotton House )
  • Iron

So that you do not have to shop the moment you arrive, you may wish to bring

  • Tea & coffee
  • Milk
  • Toilet roll
  • Breakfast cereal
  • Basic food stuffs (pasta, rice, tins of tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar)
  • Soap/hand sanitiser/towel
