What happens if I cannot take up my place at University?

If you let us know in writing before midday (12:00) on Monday 17th August 2026 we will release you from your tenancy.

If you wish to leave after this point we have a release process you can use.

This policy is intended for prospective tenants who do not meet their grades and do not end up studying at either Nottingham university.

How is my room allocated?

Applicants can self-select their room type online. Just click the 'Rent Online' button where you can view available rooms and floorplans and select the room you'd like. After selecting your room you're able to complete the signing process online.

How long is the contract for NTU 1st year tenants?

For 2026 - 27 academic year, the contract length for 1st year Undergraduate NTU tenants is

44 weeks, tenancy dates are 11/09/2026 - 15/07/2027.

What is the difference between a Standard and Deluxe room at Sandhills?

These are a combination of bedroom size, view from the window, the communal area layout, size and numbers of occupants per flat
- we thought it is only fair it is reflected in price.

Can I view my flat?

Is there an inventory for the flat?

How big are the beds and how much storage do they have underneath?

The beds are 3/4 size (AKA Small Double) - 4ft x 6ft

The heights of space under the bed is approx. 15cm, one can fit two shallow storage boxes underneath and plenty of other cardboard boxes and items around them.

Is there parking?

As Sandhills is in a strictly city centre location, there is no parking – there is a tram stop next to NTU Newton Building (5’ walk away) which takes you to a Park & Ride facility at the outskirts of the city – there is a multi-storey car park nearby also.
