Moving in to The Student Hideout

Special arrival information

It is not possible for everyone to move in on the same day just before the start of your course, so please consider carefully when you will be able to make the journey and move into your room.

We also ask that only the student and their immediate household travel to the site to limit the numbers of extra people visiting the building at this time.

Every tenant must book a key collection appointment using the link in the personal e-mail you will receive

Keys can be picked up from Unipol Nottingham office:

28 Shakespeare Street
Nottingham
NG1 4FQ

Get Directions >

There is no parking outside the Unipol office, so you may find it useful to park at Trinity Square Car Park, and then take the short walk across to Unipol to collect your key.

Moving in requirements

  1. Please bring a form of identification with you when you come to collect your key.
  2. Please ensure your rent payment option has been confirmed before you arrive.
  3. No keys will be issued if a rent payment schedule has not been set up.

Check out the Unipol website for more information about what facilities are supplied in your accommodation and what you need to bring with you.

Allow yourself extra time to travel to Nottingham and plan your arrival carefully

 Parking

There is no parking on site and it is recommended that you use the train, bus or the tram to travel to Nottingham on your arrival day.

Students are not permitted to keep a car within the boundary of Nottingham City Council whilst staying in Norwich Union House, therefore we recommend that students use either trains, buses or trams to travel to Nottingham.

If you bring your belongings in a car into the City on your arrival day, you must ensure that it is not subsequently kept parked anywhere within the City boundary.

 Transport Options

Driving in the city centre

Nottingham City Centre has traffic restrictions that prevent general traffic from accessing the city centre in order to minimise congestion and to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians. These restrictions apply seven days a week and you need to take care not to contravene them, otherwise it is likely you will receive a fine.  Traffweb website details all the restrictions.
