Moving in to Sandhills

Sandhills, 79-85 Talbot Street, Nottingham, NG1 5GL

Special arrival information

To ensure social distancing for the safety of tenants and staff, it is not possible for everyone to move in on the same day just before the start of your course, so please consider carefully when you will be able to make the journey and move into your room.

We also ask that only the student and their immediate household travel to the site to limit the numbers of extra people visiting the building at this time.

Every tenant must book a key collection appointment

Moving in requirements

  1. Please bring a form of identification with you when you come to collect your key.
  2. Please ensure your rent payment option has been confirmed before you arrive.
  3. No keys will be issued if a rent payment schedule has not been set up.

Check out the Unipol website for more information about what facilities are supplied in your accommodation and what you need to bring with you.

Driving in the city centre

Nottingham City Centre has traffic restrictions that prevent general traffic from accessing the city centre in order to minimise congestion and to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians. These restrictions apply seven days a week and you need to take care not to contravene them, otherwise it is likely you will receive a fine.  Traffweb website details all the restrictions.

Parking

There is no parking on site

Sandhills has 4 x drop off spaces immediately outside the building on white block paving. This can only be used for unloading

Between 20th and 27th September 2020 between 9.30am – 3.30pm arrangements have been made with a traffic management company to close off one lane on Talbot Street, next to the main entrance to Sandhills, to help you unload.

In both cases, please move your vehicle to a nearby carpark with 15 minutes of drop off

Students are not permitted to keep a car within the boundary of Nottingham City Council whilst staying in Sandhills, therefore we recommend that students use either trains, buses or trams to travel around Nottingham.

If you bring your belongings in a car into the City on your arrival day, you must ensure that it is not subsequently kept parked anywhere within the City boundary.

Loading bays near the building are strictly not available for parking and if students are moving in to the building by car, they are required to move their vehicle to the nearby car parks.

We can recommend the following city centre car parks that are close by and then walk to the building or catch a tram/bus as detailed above.
